How Can I Get Rid Of Stretch Marks

How do you eliminate stubborn stretch marks (definitely a gals most common and embarrassing eyesore)? Stretch marks aren’t just hard for females though, men suffer with them too. A few common causes? If you have given birth, gone on a diet or gained weight too rapidly at any point in your life, or experimented with lifting weights then you have most likely experienced stretch marks to some degree.

Some of us are just so scared and distressed about those pesky stretch marks, that we begin to hide all the affected places - it can’t be good for a person to have to resort to that, instead you need to be proactive. Stretch marks are a tough situation at best, there is no getting around it, but accepting defeat and letting them pick your clothing just isn’t the right path to take - it’s your appearance and you must work your hardest at maintaining it.

Eliminating stubborn stretch marks isn’t always cheap and finding quality products amongst all the hype and advertising being pushed upon us as we search for an honest treatment can be overwhelming. Those who can afford it often choose the route of microdermabrasion, or even laser surgery, in an attempt to get it right the first time. Such ventures are very costly though, and they often have an only slightly better chance at succeeding than creams or more natural cures.

The sale of special creams and lotions designed solely for eliminating stretchmarks, known as stretch mark creams, is rising fast. There are still a few people who declare it better to make their own, using natural ingredients, but the majority of people seem to be embracing the quick and easy solution provided by a stretch mark removal cream or lotion.

One of the great benefits of having a stretch mark cream is the freedom to cure your stretch marks from the privacy of your home. Remember though, applying the cream whenever you feel like it will not benefit you as much as applying it at the right times. The right times are times when your skin is in a more absorbent state, such as immediately after a bath or shower. Following this rule will ensure maximum delivery of the cream and help promote quicker healing of your stretch marks.

You see, most of the time creams and lotions don’t penetrate the first layer of your skin, but after a bath or shower your pores are open more and the lotion can sink down further into the skin, promoting greater healing and more effectively removing those tough stretch marks.

One of the big reasons your skin gets unhealthy is what is on your plate. What you eat, and what you drink, can make the difference between healthy and unhealthy skin. It’s a commonly accepted fact that the easiest way to prevent sunburn is drink more water, as opposed to the other “healthy” drinks. The same principle applies to the rest of your skin’s health, including your fight against stretch marks.

I often hear people say that it’s too late to fix their skin, but I always tell them that the skin cells below the surface aren’t beyond repair, only the ones on top are. Starting a healthy diet, with the right kinds of food and vitamins and plenty of water, will dramatically increase your chances of regaining a healthy body and glowing skin. Will it happen before your date this weekend? No, but who can say no to creating a healthier you?
